insider on
the Uncut magazine CSNY article...
Dave Zimmer (author of the CSN book The Authorized
Biography): "Finally picked a copy of the UNCUT issue with the
CSN&Y cover story.
Many of the quotes seemed a bit too familiar, so I started underlining and
checking against my Crosby, Stills & Nash book. By article's end, I
found 35 instances of where Rob Hughes (who the hell is Rob Hughes?)
cribbed parts of quotes and passages from my book -- without permission or
source credit.
Irresponsible journalism? Plagiarism? My book publisher, Da Capo Press, is
pondering the issue now. This so-called journalist Rob Hughes may wonder,
"Who the hell is Dave Zimmer?" I guess he never bothered
to check who wrote the book he pulled from so blithely and
indiscriminately ... not that anyone cares."
