Sonny Mone Band


This section of the 4 WaySite is dedicated to a great singer/songwriter called Sonny Mone. Originally from Boston, Mone relocated to Southern California and got into the L.A. music scene in the late 1980’s.  Playing clubs and collaborating with other musicians from the post-punk, psychedelic genre, he developed a unique writing and performing style.

Sonny Mone is currently performing as a solo artist using an acoustic/electric format, with new songs and a new band featuring Bill Burchette (Fine Kettle of Fish), on bass, Phil Smith, cello, Peter Gallagher playing drums, and Corey Little, lead guitar. The Sonny Mone Band live performances consist of new original songs and material from past recordings with Crazy Horse. Based in Santa Barbara, California, recent shows have included opening for Dave Mason and Jim Capaldi’s Traffic Reunion, Dave Davies from the Kinks, Curt Smith of Tears for Fears, and The Tubes. These shows, and the upcoming release the of the CD “Ride Around the Sun” is creating a real buzz within the Southern California music scene.  The Sonny Mone Band offers a unique blend of poignant lyrics and intense, stripped down, acoustic/electric arangements.
